Good care shouldn’t come with billing surprises. Here’s exactly what to expect, whether you’re using insurance or paying on your own.
Using Wellmark Insurance
I’m in-network with Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield
I accept commercial Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield plans, including HMO and PPO plans, such as Wellmark Health Plan of Iowa and Alliance Select. If you have one of these plans, you pay your plan’s copay, deductible, or coinsurance, and I bill Wellmark directly.
Not sure if your plan is covered? Send me a photo of your insurance card (front and back) with your prescreening form, or call 515-207-9693, and I’ll verify before your first visit. Your benefits can vary by employer and plan, so it’s worth checking your coverage for outpatient mental health visits and telehealth.
Not currently accepted: I’m not able to accept Medicare, Medicaid, or other insurance plans at this time.
Self-pay fees
Initial Psychiatric Evaluation (60 Minutes): $250
A thorough review of your history, symptoms, and goals, with a mental status exam, diagnosis, and a treatment plan built with you.
Follow-up & medication management (20 minutes): $125
Check-ins on how you’re doing, medication review, symptom monitoring, side effect management, and prescription refills.
Accepted Payment Methods
All major credit and debit cards, plus HSA and FSA cards, through a secure patient portal.
Out-of-Network Reimbursement
Using out-of-network benefits
If your plan isn’t one I’m in-network with, you may still be able to get partial reimbursement for visits. After each appointment, I can provide an itemized receipt (called a superbill) to submit to your insurer. Reimbursement depends on your plan, so contact your insurance company to ask about out-of-network outpatient mental health benefits, and whether telehealth is covered. I can’t guarantee reimbursement.
